Pulasthi Amarasinghe is a Research Economist at IPS with research interests in labor, health, and development economics. He is also interested in fiscal policy and social welfare programmes and their effects on household and individual behavior. His recent work focuses on migration, social protection, and discrimination in low-income nations using various econometric tools.

Pulasthi holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Maryland, an MSc in Economics from Iowa State University, and a PhD in Economics from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
