Research Interests: Labour, Market Access, Environment and Natural Resources, Climate Change

Hasitha Weragoda is a Research Assistant at the IPS. His research interests include Econometrics and Economic Modelling, Environment and Natural Resources, Climate Change, Market Access, and Land Use Change with a particular focus on Spatial Analysis.

He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Colombo. Hasitha represented Sri Lanka at the 20th South Asian Economics Students’ Meet (SAESM 2025) in Nepal, where he won the Best Research Paper and Presenter Award in his thematic category.
