Mapping Study to Expedite Geographical Indication (GI) Registration for Ceylon Tea

This project aims to map out the unique practices and systemic constraints along the Ceylon Tea value chain to develop and implement an effective Geographical Indication (GI) system for Ceylon Tea. This project will also develop related certification systems for Ceylon Tea and document them for GI registration. The development of such systems will strengthen the prevailing environmental, social, and governance aspects for inclusive and sustainable development along the Ceylon Tea value chain. The Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka will coordinate the project, and the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development will implement it.
