Workshop on ‘Experimental Design for Savings and Payments Research: South Asia,’

IPS, in partnership with the Global Financial Inclusion Initiative at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), organized a training workshop on “Experimental Design for Savings and Payments Research” from 10-13 September 2012, at the IPS Conference Room.

The workshop aimed at gathering researchers from South Asia to discuss experimental research in designing and implementing Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) in the field of savings and payments. The topics covered in the workshop include project development for micro savings and payments research, methodology for RCTs, survey instrument design, and best practices in project implementation.

The participants of the workshop were from the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Dr. Ganga Tilakaratna (Research Economist, IPS) and Ayodya Galappattige and Roshini Jayaweera (Research Officers, IPS) also participated in this training workshop.
