This research seeks to generate an evidence base for remittance patterns and costs in Sri Lanka, with the aim of helping decision-makers to identify ways of reducing remittance costs. Specifically, the study will look at the regulatory system in Sri Lanka for remittances, map remittance costs in selected recruitment corridors, assess regional good practices and provide recommendations to reduce remittance costs. A survey of 600 remittance receiving households will be conducted, along with Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews with stakeholders in the migration industry.
