Latest Edition of Talking Economics Digest Now Online! – Integrating Sri Lanka into the Global Economy

The 15th Edition of the Talking Economics Digest centers on the theme of ‘Integrating Sri Lanka into the Global Economy.’ With increasingly protectionist policies of the West and the rapid emergence of new superpowers in the world, especially from the Asian region, Sri Lanka is facing a whole new set of challenges, as it tries to position itself as a rising middle-income country in the world. It is also important for Sri Lanka to strategically and diplomatically balance the competing interests of its two main development partners, China and India. These global dynamics are scrutinised in depth, throughout this edition of the Digest.

The Talking Economics Digest is a collection of articles written by IPS researchers during the latter half of 2017, covering a wide range critical national, regional, and international economic policy matters, including trade, tourism, labour, education, climate change, human development and more.

It also features an interview with Research Fellow, Janaka Wijayasiri, who heads international economic policy research at IPS.
