Latest Edition of Talking Economics Digest Now Online! – Global Goals: Is Sri Lanka Ready?

The theme of the 12th Edition of the Talking Economics Digest focuses on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which came into effect early this year, from a Sri Lankan and Regional context. The Global Goals aims to end poverty and hunger; combat inequalities; build peaceful, just and inclusive societies; protect human rights; promote gender equality and empowering women and girls; protect the planet and its natural resources; and balance economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
Like in previous issues, the Digest is a compilation of articles written by IPS research staff over the first half of 2016, covering a range of contemporary and critical national, regional, and international economic policy issues. You can also find out more details on the 2016 edition of our Flagship Publication, Sri Lanka: State of the Economy 2016, under the theme ‘Fiscal Policy for Growth: Sustainable Financing for Development’.
The Digest is also interspersed with the Diary of Events of the Institute, information on IPS’ Latest Publications, and Fun Facts documenting developments in the country during this period.
We welcome your feedback and hope you find the Digest interesting!
