With rising inequality and poverty incidence, there are growing concerns about the current financial system’s ability to facilitate a swift economic recovery for developing countries in the aftermath of the pandemic. The changed dynamics of the post-pandemic world necessitate a holistic approach to create a “new global financial system”. This involves not only rethinking international financial mechanisms but also enhancing national financial systems and processes to better support development goals.
Central to this initiative is the integration of perspectives from the Global South into the global financial landscape. In this regard, this study aims to provide actionable recommendations that support sustainable borrowing and inclusive development in the Global South.
