Stakeholder Meeting on Demand for Climate Insurance by Dry Zone Farmers in Sri Lanka

A stakeholder meeting was held at the IPS Conference Room, on 13^th September 2016, to disseminate the findings of the IPS study on Demand for Climate Insurance by Dry Zone Farmers in Sri Lanka, funded by the Global Development Network (GDN).

The preliminary findings of the first phase of the study were shared with relevant stakeholders at the meeting and their inputs were obtained for the second phase. Based on survey results, IPS Research Economist, Kanchana Wickramasinghe, presented the key findings on existing risk management strategies and the situation and issues with regard to climate insurance.
