
SARNET Regional Conference on Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Inclusive Growth in South Asia
IPS Executive Director, Dr. Saman Kelegama, Research Fellow, Dr. Ganga Tilakaratna and Research Officer, Samanthi Bandara, participated in the International Conference on ‘Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Inclusive Growth in South Asia’ held in India in October 2015. The event was organized by the South Asia Research Network on Employment and Social Protection for Inclusive Growth (SARNET) in collaboration with the UN-ESCAP, ILO, IDRC, Canada and the Institute for Human Development (IHD), and was held in New Delhi, India during 24th and 25th of October 2015.
Dr. Kelegama chaired the Panel Discussion on ‘Key Findings and Future Priorities for Research and Policy’ and Dr. Ganga Tilakaratna was a discussant in the session on ‘Education, Skills and Social Protection in South Asia’
The event brought together research institutions and scholars working on employment and social protection in South Asia, to help devise policy options that generate decent employment, enhance social protection and achieve inclusive growth.
