Nishamini Ihalagedara

Nishamini Ihalagedara is a Research Officer at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS). Her research interests include agriculture, environment and natural resources, energy, and climate change.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Technology and Management with a specialisation in Applied Economics and Business Management from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. Nishamini also holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya. She is currently reading for an LLB at the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Nishamini has collaborated on research initiatives with regional and international organisations such as the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
