Dr. Paul Steel, Chief Economist at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) spoke on “Integrating Climate and Natural Resource Management into the Budget Process” at an IPS in-house seminar. The presentation explored best practices among developing countries in the Asia and Pacific in mainstreaming environmental policy by integrating it into national budgets. The presentation also discussed the fiscal and political challenges faced by developing countries in successfully achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
