With the objective of drafting the Country Programme Framework (CPF) 2023-2027 for FAO activities in Sri Lanka, this project will identify developmental priorities for Sri Lanka in food and agriculture, fisheries, livestock, forestry, and environment sectors through a desk review of existing policy documents and in consultation with concerned government ministries and departments.
Following the relevant national policies and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) corporate documents, such as the FAO’s Strategic Framework 2022-31 and UNSDCF 2023-27, consultations will be carried out with all relevant stakeholders, including government officials, farmer/fisheries organisations, civil society organisations, and the private sector through physical workshops in all nine provinces. The final phase of the project will consist of conducting a national-level multi-stakeholder workshop to obtain further inputs and validate the findings.
