Launch of the Book: “Migration, Remittances, and Development in South Asia”

“Migration, Remittances, and Development in South Asia” published by Sage, India was launched by handing over the first copy of the book to Hon. Dilan Perera, Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare by the Executive Director of the IPS, at the Ministry on 04 August 2011.

The book edited by the Executive Director of the IPS, Dr. Saman Kelegama, carries contributions from seven IPS reach staff, viz., Dushni Weerakoon, Nisha Arunatilake, Priyanka Jayawardena, Roshini Jayaweera, Suwendrani Jayaratne, Deshal De Mel, and Tilani Jayawardhana. The book also carries case studies of all eight SAARC members and an overall South Asian case study. The South Asian Migration Commission which was launched in 2009 in Colombo is also elaborated in the book. Further details can be viewed in
