Kithmina Hewage Highlights Domestic and International Challenges Facing Sri Lanka

IPS Research Economist, Kithmina Hewage, discussed immediate and long-term economic challenges faced by Sri Lanka, at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Strategic Planning Meeting, held on the 06 November 2019.

During his presentation, he highlighted domestic challenges such as the need for policies to stimulate growth while balancing deficits and managing debt and the issue of multidimensional inequality in the country, as well as international challenges such as the US-China trade war and its impacts on the Sri Lankan economy.
