Kanchana Wickramasinghe, Research Officer, IPS, wins the ‘Top Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) in Sri Lanka Award 2014 for Personal Accomplishment’
The Top Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) in Sri Lanka Award 2014 for Personal Accomplishment, organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sri Lanka, was held at Water’s Edge on 11th November 2014.
The Programme serves to recognize ten outstanding individuals, whose personal and professional achievements in a chosen field are exemplary, outstanding and nationally beneficial. This year, Kanchana Wickremasinghe was the only female to win the TOYP Award.
The Programme attempts to highlight and confer national recognition of these achievements and contributions to serve as an example and incentive for youth in Sri Lanka to channel their energies in the right direction and create a positive change in the community. TOYP honourees are selected through a long and arduous process, where all the nomination forms received are scrutinized by an illustrious panel of judges.
The Award Ceremony was held at the Water’s Edge on the 11th November 2014. The Chief Guest of the event was His Excellency, Azmi Zainuddin, High Commissioner for Malaysia in Sri Lanka.
