This study aims to enhance tobacco control efforts in Sri Lanka through two key strategies. Strategy A focuses on advocating for systematic tobacco taxation, aiming to boost government revenue and counter industry interference. This includes addressing issues such as claims of illicit trade and the growing problem of increased beedi consumption. Strategy B, on the other hand, targets non-communicable disease risk factors by addressing the sale of single sticks of tobacco products. This strategy places a strong emphasis on improving the effectiveness of health warnings and reducing the overall affordability of tobacco. The overarching goal of the study is to raise awareness and contribute to a healthier Sri Lanka by strengthening tobacco control measures and improving public health outcomes.
