IPS conducts training on Value Chain Analysis

As part of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and IPS Value Chains study on the spice industry in Sri Lanka, IPS conducted a training programmeon Value Chain Analysis (VCA) for government officials and stakeholders on 13 March 2017 at the IPS premises.

The training was conducted by IPS Research Fellow Janaka Wijayasiri, IPS Research Fellow Manoj Thibbotuwawa and IPS Research Officer Dilani Hirimuthugodage.

Many key elements of the VCA approach, including main features, the frameworks and methodologies to conduct chain analysis, were discussed during the training. Furthermore, application and usefulness of the VCA in Sri Lanka –based on past IPS research – was also highlighted.
