Interpreting SDGs for South Asia: In Search of a Regional Framework

The study aims to assess the progress of delivering SDGs at the country level, during the first three years (2015–2018) of the 2030 Agenda, based on available data. Such progress needs to be looked at, among others, in the following areas: i) policy alignment; ii) institutional structure; iii) financing; iv) partnership and stakeholder participation; v) data deficit. Secondly, it aims to explore areas for regional cooperation in South Asia for delivering SDGs at the country level. The three issues of focus are: i) the scope to identify regional priorities of SDGs from country perspective; ii) the regional means/instruments that would promote SDGs in countries; iii) institutional arrangements necessary to support SDG delivery within a regional framework.
