International Seminar for Young Scholars on Economic Development Issues

IPS Research Assistant, Nipuni Perera participated in the International Seminar for Young Scholars on Economic Development Issues held by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and organized by the Graduate School, CASS in Beijing, China. The seminar took place during 22 August to 20 September 2015.

The objective of the seminar was to share experiences and challenges in China’s economic development and discuss common challenges in emerging and developing countries with the aim of exploring countermeasures to these challenges through policy studies.  At the seminar, Nipuni Perera also made a joint presentation on ‘Economic and Strategic Perspective of Central Asia, Northeast Asia and South Asia relations with China.’  Representatives from 23 countries from regions including South Asia, East Asia, Northeast Asia, Latin America, Central Asia participated in the event.
