International Conference on Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation in South Asia: Trends, Challenges, and Prospects was organized by the RIS, India; Commonwealth Secretariat, UK; and Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and was held at the India Habitat Centre, Delhi, India, during 2-3 May 2013.

Executive Director, IPS, made a presentation on ‘India-Sri Lanka Economic Cooperation’ in the Session on ‘Promoting Bilateral Cooperation in South Asia’, and was a panelist in the ‘High Level Panel Discussion: South Asia in a Changing Global Economic Landscape’ while, Ashani Abeysekera, Research Officer, IPS, was a panelist in the session ‘Building Regional Supply Chains’.

The keynote address at the conference was delivered by Hon Salman Khurshid, Minister of External Affairs, Government of India, and the valedictory address was made by Riva Ganguly Das, Joint Secretary, Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
