International Conference on ‘Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Social Protection in South Asia

Dr. Saman Kelegama, Executive Director, IPS and Dr Ganga Tilakaratna, Research Fellow, IPS, participated in the International Conference on ‘Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Social Protection in South Asia’ organized by the South Asia Research Network on Employment and Social Protection for Inclusive Growth (SARNET) in collaboration with the UN-ESCAP, ILO, IDRC, Canada and the Institute for Human Development (IHD), held in New Delhi, India on 14-16 December 2014.

Dr Saman Kelegama chaired the session on ‘Challenges of Employment in South Asia’ and made a presentation on ‘Inclusive Growth in Sri Lanka’ in the session on ‘Making Growth Inclusive in South Asia: Creating Jobs and Ensuring Social Protection’.

Dr Ganga Tilakaratna made a presentation on ‘Social Protection in Sri Lanka: Emerging Challenges and Gaps’ in the session on ‘Challenge of Universalizing Social Protection in South Asia’.
