In-house Seminar – Transforming Tobacco Farming to Economically Sustainable Alternatives by Nimesha Dissanayaka

Nimesha Dissanayaka, Research Officer at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) presented her research findings on ways of transforming tobacco farming to economically sustainable alternatives at an IPS in-house seminar held virtually on 8 April 2021. In her presentation, Nimesha analysed farm-level economics of tobacco production related to profitability and income, and identified factors affecting farmers’ willingness to switch to other alternative crops.
