Impacts of the Implementation of the Uruguay Round Agreement on Agriculture (URAA): Country Specific Analysis – Sri Lanka

This study attempts to analyse current trade and agricultural policy regimes in Sri Lanka, and how current policies compare with the commitments made under the URAA. While focusing specifically on the key issues of market access, domestic support and export competition, the study will also be extended to examine future policy options and strategies for the forthcoming World Trade Organization (WTO) Round of negotiations in agriculture. The study will involve qualitative and quantitative analysis of primary and secondary data, in consultation with the government and private sectors, as well as quantitative analysis of current levels of protection and future policy options.
