Data and information were gathered for the Sri Lankan component of the regional study which is part of the “Secondary Education Policy Research in Asia Project,” coordinated by the Education Policy and Reform Unit of UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok. The data and information provided by the survey were analyzed and compiled in order to prepare a regional synthesis paper on the topic, discussing regional trends and issues while highlighting some country cases through which other countries could draw lessons.
