This study aims at improving the pesticide management policy in Sri Lanka and elsewhere through the anlaysis of economic implications involved. The focus would be on assessing the costs of pesticide poisoning in Sri Lanka, primarily from self-harm or suicides which are the major forms of poisoning. The study is conducted with the collaboration of a medical team from the University of Copenhagen and the South Asian Clinical Toxicology Research Collaboration Centre (SACTRC), University of Colombo and the University of Peradeniya.
