IPS Research Fellow, Dr. Ganga Tilakaratna made a presentation on ‘Financial access is NOT Financial Inclusion: Current Status and Issues of Financial Inclusion in Sri Lanka’ at the 9^th BankTech Asia Conference organized by the Knowledge Group of Companies, Malaysia , held at Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo on 21-22 March 2017. Dr. Tilakaratna discussed the growth and diversity of financial landscape, Sri Lanka’s position with regard to financial inclusion in the Asian Region, issues and challenges, and the role of technology and innovation in achieving greater financial inclusion in Sri Lanka.

BankTech Asia conference was attended by around 150 participants from several countries in the Asia Pacific region representing local and international banks, technological service providers, mobile money service providers and financial inclusion experts.
