Asia-Pacific Trade Economists’ Conference on “Trade in the Asian Century – Delivering the Promise of Economic Prosperity” ESCAP Secretariat, Bangkok, Thailand

Executive Director’s presentation on ‘International Trade Research Agenda advances over the Last Decade and ARTNeT’ provided the setting for the rest of the deliberations of the Conference. Dr. Ravi Ratnayake, Head of the Trade and Investment Division of the ESCAP, Patrick Low of the Fung Global Institute, Evan Due, former IDRC were among the other speakers at the inaugural plenary.

Executive Director Chaired a parallel session on ‘Regional Integration’ which included Jayanth Menon (ADB), Jim Rollo (University of Sussex), Prabir De (RIS), and Inkyo Cheng (Inha University – Korea) as speakers. All ARTNeT representatives from the Asia-Pacific region and institutional trade experts participated in the conference.

Executive Director also participated and contributed to the conference on: “Aid for Trade and South-South Value Chains” held on the 24th of September 2014 at the ESCAP Secretariat.
