This study is to construct an analytical framework, i.e. Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM), in which agricultural policy interventions can be evaluated. Analysing the rice value chain; mapping the subsidies and other incentives related to the domestic agriculture sector in Sri Lanka; establishing a comprehensive farm management data base for rice and other field crops; constructing a set of PAMs and analysing a set of indicators which can be used to measure the levels of efficiency, distortion, and competitiveness in producing different crops in different areas, will be done under this project.
