A Delegation of Chinese Scholars Visits IPS to Discuss Research on BRI

A delegation of Chinese scholars, led by He Zukun, President and Professor of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, China visited the IPS on 22 July 2019, to discuss future collaborative research initiatives.

IPS Executive Director, Dushni Weerakoon, Research Fellow, Janaka Wijayasiri, and Research Officers Kithmina Hewage and Nipuni Perera met the delegation and briefed the Chinese delegation on the Institute’s ongoing research on China-Sri Lanka economic relations, including a recent research paper on the Belt and Road Initiative, Debt and Diplomacy: Challenges and Opportunities for China – Sri Lanka Economics Relations, and a study on Strengthening National Policy Capacities for Jointly Building the Belt and Road Towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
