27th J.E. Jayasuriya Memorial Lecture, Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, 13th February 2017

IPS Executive Director, Dr. Saman Kelegama delivered the 27th J.E. Jayasuriya memorial lecture on 13th February 2017 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.

The lecture was on the timely topic: “Non-State Actors in Higher Education in Sri Lanka: Issues and Challenges”.

In the lecture Dr. Kelegama highlighted the need for the active participation of non-state actors in higher education to give all students the freedom to education. He also noted the need for an overall independent accreditation board for monitoring standards of non-state universities and higher education institutes to address the concerns of the stakeholders.
