The Administration
and Finance department comprises of five units, Administration,
Financial Operations, Human Resources, Maintenance Operations
and Procurement Services. These provide essential internal
services to each of the research units in IPS.
The primary goals of the units within Administration
and Finance are to:
- Provide professional expertise in all business
areas
- Provide management services to ensure compliance
by all units within IPS
- Create appropriate policies and procedures to
ensure "best practices"
- Act as the central point for contact with the
donors, public, private sector and the community at large.
Key Services provided by the Unit
- Administration
is responsible for the project management of all projects at
the Institute. It is the central point of contact for the units
and the funding agencies. All administrative and secretarial
work required by the units and staff of the Institute is carried
out by this department;
- Financial Operations
serves as the central financial unit in IPS. The main functions
of the finance department consist of invoicing, accounts payable,
and the processing of payroll. In addition to this, the Financial
Operations meets the needs of both internal and external customers
through budget development, financial analysis, and financial
and management reporting.
- Human Resources
handles the recruitment process, induction of new employees,
development and training needs of staff , employee welfare,
personnel and labour issues within the Institute.
- Maintenance Operations
includes the smooth coordination of the internal travel requirements
by staff, the security and janitorial services of the Institute.
- Procurement Services
is committed to providing its central purchasing services to
all units with integrity, dedication to customer service, and
strong leadership.
