Provides a variety of services to its users including reference, inter-library loan, online searching, literature surveys, article alert services, photocopy and document delivery services.

Reference Facilities

The IPS Library's reference facilities are available for external users. For more information, refer the "Library Policy for Corporate Members and External Users.”

Inter-Library Loans (ILL)

The Inter Library Loan service provides IPS researchers with access to materials not held by the IPS library. The library has agreements with the National Library and Documentation Services Board, University of Colombo, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Postgraduate Institute of Management, World Bank, ILO, Marga Institute, Centre for Development Information, National Science Foundation, National Institute of Business Management, Sri Lanka Tea Board, Department of Census and Statistics, International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES, Colombo), National Development Bank, and DFCC.

Document Delivery Service (DDS)

The Document Delivery Service obtains materials from affiliate libraries and delivers it directly to the researcher. Required materials are delivered using the following options:

Electronic delivery via e-mail, fax, or post. Documents can also be hand-delivered if the user personally visits the library.

Photocopying Services

IPS Library users have access to photocopying services in keeping with copyright laws.

e-Alert Services

Informs IPS researchers about new arrivals, provides journal content pages, and other current information via e-mail.
