Jobsnet Data Analysis

The structural reforms of the economy and increasing global linkages have opened lucrative opportunities in the labour market at the high levels of the occupational ladder, and in other support services in the mid and lower levels. However, these opportunities call for skills in information technology, computer literacy and foreign language literacy and as such are not accessible to the majority of the youth who have undergone traditional formal education with the hope of finding long-term job security in the public sector. A better understanding of the supply and demand of skills in the market is needed to improve and update education and labour markets in the country to make the best use of available labour resources in the country.

This study analyses skills mismatch and recruitment policies in the labour market using “JobsNet” data.
