The programme is intended to build national research capacity to undertake socio-economic policy research in Sri Lanka. Through collaborative research with IPS, the programme is expected to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, insights, and expertise and strengthen the economic policy discourse in the country.
This is an unpaid position. Scholars are expected to finance their own travel/accommodation-related costs.
The Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) is inviting applications for internships from students following a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Interested applicants must be working on socio-economic development issues of relevance to Sri Lanka, registered for a Masters or PhD degree at a recognised university in Sri Lanka.
Graduate interns are expected to stay six weeks to three months at IPS. During their stay, access to all IPS facilities, including working space and library resources will be made available. They will also have the opportunity to attend seminars and conferences organised by the IPS and network with the Institute’s researchers. Graduate interns will be expected to present their research at IPS seminars and contribute in other ways to disseminate their research.
