Deepening Integration in South Asia |

SACEPS is conducting a study which aims to be the equivalent of the famous Cecchini report on the European Union. The study will examine how SAARC can deepen and broaden regional integration. The first stage of this study will consider new options for SAFTA, looking at existing problems within negotiations and the different approaches of tackling them. The study is shared by RIS in India and IPS in Sri Lanka. IPS will concentrate on Revenue Compensation, Additional Measures, Dispute Settlement, Time Frame for SAFTA and Liberalization of Services in SAFTA. The study is based on existing literature and makes a number of recommendations. |
