IUCN Sri Lanka

IUCN Sri Lanka is the representative body of the World Conservation Union in Sri Lanka . It offers technical, institutional and policy support to government agencies and NGOs in accordance with the Union 's global mission. Since its establishment, IUCN Sri Lanka has demonstrated its ability to facilitate and work in partnership with government and other national and international stakeholders. The in-country operational relationship between the Union and the Government of Sri Lanka is based on a Memorandum of Agreement signed between IUCN and the Government of Sri Lanka. Since its establishment, activities of IUCN Sri Lanka have expanded and moved into new areas, in partnership with the Government, NGO members and partners.

IPS maintains a close partnership with IUCN Sri Lanka. The EEP Unit of IPS shares a common interest on a number of areas of activity with the IUCN Sri Lanka. The most recent partnership activity between the two organizations is the project on Forest Governance in Sri Lanka to pilot test innovative approaches to overcoming policy, legal, institutional and economic obstacles and to enhance capacity of key stakeholders to implement forest governance reforms at national, regional, and local levels.
